About Sigma Pi
Originally founded as Tau Phi Delta on February 26, 1897 at Vincennes University, what is now Sigma Pi Fraternity International has come to have over 150 active chapters and 12 colonies, with over 85,000 alumni. Sigma Pi's founding fathers were Rolin Rosco James, William Raper Kennedy, James Thompson Kingsbury, and George Martin Patterson.
Locally, Boulder's Sigma Pi chapter is relatively young, having only received a charter in 1998. With only an 8 year tenure however, we have grown to be the largest house on campus and one of the most involved in the student government and with the local community. We have also been recognized as one of the top 5 Sigma Pi chapters in the country. A major part of our success is due to the five ideals which we all have learned to incorporate into our everyday lives:
1) to establish a brotherhood
2) to establish and maintain an aristocracy of learning
3) to raise the standards of morality and develop character
4) to diffuse culture and encourage chivalry
5) to promote the spirit of civic righteousness and quicken the national conscience.

Brotherhood
At the core of everything ...
As one of the larger houses on CU's campus , we pride ourselves in still honoring and holding true to the most important part of being a Sigma Pi: the brotherhood. Whether its tailgating for football games, house camping trips, formals, to hitting the slopes every weekend, we are constantly holding events to perpetuate our brotherhood. We make sure to keep in perspective a proper balance between social events with other sorities, non-greeks, and events with just the bros.
Throughout college you will make many friends, but the bonds that you create with your brothers at Sigma Pi will be unparalleled.
